Verizon DSL → Tracert tests come back dirty. Verizon wont help.

They USED TO offer a dry loop DSL - which does NOT include the ability to make voice calls, we here refer to this ability as having a "POTS" line. Sorry if it means something else to you.

I'm not sure exactly what your original problem is ... but if it's that you think you have congestion, that's what should have stated at the Direct forum. For that, they usually move people to a different router/DSLAM at the CO.

I'm not entirely sure what you want - you came here asking for help and have so far rejected every possible solution that was offered to you. We already assume you are more tech savvy than the average customer, since you found this site and know how to do a tracert, but modem swap-outs CAN sometimes change that. Of course the Tier 1 tech support on the phone knows nothing and will tell you to do that, and if you usually just follow their dumb requests and comply, you can then explain the problem to them and they'll transfer you to someone else -- likely Tier 2.

There's also the Presidential Appeals dept. if regular tech support gets nowhere. I forget how to contact them directly, though.

If you're just here to troll, then take your posts somewhere else, since no one wants to see that.

Verizon requires a phone number/POTS now, but they did not in the past. Myself and a few others on these forums either still have dry loop or had it previously and got switched to a bundled (normal) setup. There also some outliers like myself who have both POTS and DSL but are on separate bills/account numbers.

That being said, at this point I think you just want to scream and complain instead of working to get the issue fixed.

its off topic... having a phone line, pots, dry dsl, its all irrelevant...
