I Broke WoW (Aka Gold Token Cap)

Well, I think my mission in ultimate stupidity has come to an end. I can't buy any more WoW Gold Tokens regardless of which character I use on any server. For anyone interested, the cap was achieved at 1110 days or 37 tokens.

I'll certainly teach a man to fish - though damn I am tempted to find folks who want to try WoW out. Recruit-A-Friend and give them two months worth of tokens would kick back the EZ alt leveling, +30 more days, and the two seater mounts.

But yeah, I just have the couple of alts + level 3 inn going at it. Pretty much check the garrisons, try and get the ilvls up to 675 for the toon & followers (so you unlock the rare 6.2 missions), and then 4k+ honor each season (so you unlock the honor missions). The gold gain rate certainly was nerfed for playing Farmville, but it's still pretty lucrative.

(edit) Oh yeah, farm Kazzak every week for the free bountiful Fels on each creature & the high level item drops.

I think I might be forced to hit this goal since I can't rub my gold on the AH for my goofy goal any more. Or maybe buy those trading card exclusive flying mounts. I really hope on my servers that someone puts up the paid mounts - those look really cool!

That sound better than then giving it to the "Greedy" People (Like Me) LOL. I have been on wow from about 4 months after the beginning so I hope that's what you do.

I keep enticing the IRL friends I know that quit to play again and that I'll finance them, lol. Unfortunately Blizzard killed off the Scroll of Resurrection, so there's no official channel to do such.

Oh, and if you're not already running it, use the Master Plan addon. Makes running your WoW Garrison/Sweatshop a whole lot easier.

I guess the other point here is that you are trying to recruit as many followers out of the inn with the Treasure Hunter trait as possible.

I've leveled a few more alts recently and am staring at that 5,000g pricetag to upgrade the garrison to level 3, wondering if it is worth it. You've got that and then another 2-3k to get the Inn to level 3, plus that amount for any other buildings you may feel like upgrading.

because gold is easy to get

i dont even do anything special. have a few alts, run instances...sell stuff i get.

i dont play the AH i dont craft jack shit most of the time, and i have 560k right now after getting the next year free.

i am slowly buying them too 1 a week, since i cant belive they will stay this low because of how easy it is to get gold.

hell there are guilds out there selling AoTc buying tokens for the guild raiders each week

Oops, but jah - goes without saying. Every week get a Treasure Hunter until you're full.

I keep walking out ahead with gold no matter if I decide to buy my Farmville golden toilets or not. For each big price tag on my Garrison, it comes with mission unlocks for more money back.

(ie. All my alts have level 3 Garrison, Shipyard, Inn, Profession Buildings, Gathering Nodes...still only level 2 Menageries because f%*# WoW Pokemon)

I was tempted at first to buy a seat into AotC...but then mulled about it going "what's the point?" I'd rather have a doofy three-butted mount than some Feat of Strength buried in my catalog.

really the only good buying an aotc is so you can get your alts into good pugs as they treat this as godly proof of skill

That sounds like a questionable method of street cred then, lol. Also, I barely have enough time to run a "main" through LFR to pick up my legendary quest bible drops. I doubt I'd be able to use this ability to PUG often enough if I paid for it.

Also forgot to mention that I'm a big "pay it forward" fan. If folks on DSLR want to try their luck on alts on these servers, I'll gladly send a care package of bags & 10k seed money. That was enough for me to get my first garrison going.

Why was I thinking "attuned to the core" instead of "ahead of the curve"?

In short, yes. I'm leveling my Horde set now. Thanks to flying I've got nine out of 11 maxed already, the other two should be done this weekend at the latest.

Why you want the level 3 garrison:

More plots:

Without the garrison you can have either a Level 3 Barracks for 25 followers or an Inn to increase you followers by one of your choice once a week.

Ship Yard:

You can't build it, for the extra gold and gear, without a level 3 garrison.

My current goal for garrisons is Level 3, Inn (Level 2) and Barracks, Trading Post (Level 2), Salvage Yard (Level 3), Profession building (Level 2 with Follower).

I build my fourth level 3 garrison this morning. With the above listed buildings you start generating more and more gold. In about an hour and a half I run through all 22 of my toons to collect follower missions, send them out again, doing Jewel Crafting and Scribe dailies, and Tailoring work orders.

I believe it won't be long until I have 22 level 3 garrisons churning out the gold. Right now the only thing I've been spending it on are Trading Card mounts and game time.

Shipyard? Yuck.

There is no way you are doing the shipyard missions on all those alts. In order to to them you need oil. In order to get oil you need to do the dailies.

Actually with toons I've leveled since the ship yard became available I've been doing oil missions and have at least 1K oil already. On my first two toons I'm almost to the Level 2 yard. The ship yards on my Alliance set have been generating the 650 BOA gear that I've been using as soon as my Horde toons hit 100.

Even if you're not doing them every day, I mainly do them on the weekend to use up the oil I've gained during the week. The missions to get the ship yard are a breeze with flying.

Most of my level 100's, 22 atm ,have level 3 garrisons. Way too much time wasted in sending out missions every day. I might go weeks without logging into one.

Maybe I'll stop once I've got all of the trading card mounts and am token capped. Right now it is a means to an end.

Oil Wells FTW. All my alts have Shipyards sitting with like, 10k+ oil because I only send ships out for treasure - and also for getting the Captain title. It's not worth my time to level them, but it's a lot of easy money to send ships to (likely) collect fat bank for me.

But you can't get the Oil Wells until you faction grind with one of the factions iirc? (which is why only two of my toons have them)

Indeed. Not really a super grind though - every day or so do a single area run (while getting all the side quest goodies possible). Takes a couple days, but after that it's all over. Also, if you're making enough money, I guess one could Medallion of Legion it up. I wouldn't suggest that from a gold finance standpoint though.
