Re: iOS 9 is being released on September 16th...

Yes, I posted that earlier. Sluggish on a couple of devices so far. A lot of hesitation depending no what you are doing.

Hoping that maybe a iOS 9.0.1 comes out to fix some of the minor hesitation that I see.

There's definite hesitation in a lot of places, most visible in the Fast Task Switcher. When you swipe back and forth you can see the hesitation as the cards move.

I definitely hope that things will get better with time on this. Almost makes me want to go back to iOS 8.4.1.

Noticed in pictures when you delete a pic, the count goes up on the deleted folder but pic preview is no longer there.

Also for the first time since late iOS 7 (or maybe just since iOS 8.0) icons in the spotlight search results are properly displayed (I don't get the default icon template for a 1/2 second or more).

I'm REALLY liking 9.0 on my iPhone (I know, I lied, I couldn't wait until Friday once I realized that 9.0 public release was the same as the last 9.0 beta on my iPad -- that was good enough for me to move forward )

Updated both the iPad 2 and iPad Air 2 over the air after work. No problems. Download was much faster on the iPad Air 2.

Anyone else having issues with the "update" screen for the app store?

Even though they're listed under "udpates", all the apps have an "open" button instead of "update", and the "update all" is grayed out. These apps DO need to be updated, sometimes, I can see the update button for second, then it transitions to "open"...

MVM,

Lots of strange things going on with the App Store today.. think it's just getting hammered. I'd wait until later tonight or tomorrow unless you really need one of those updates. Can try going directly to that App via search in the App Store and update from there.

Thanks, I figured it was something like that... (tried going directly to the app in the store but not via search...)

Are you going to upgrade right away or are you going to let the masses test it out first and then update to it when iOS 9.0.1 comes out?

i bit the bullet. ip5 is getting long in the tooth and i'm hoping the enhancements in ios9 help give me a bit more life out of it. i told myself i wasn't going to upgrade -- but i bit the bullet. software is installing now as we speak.

I'm not seeing any stutter in the FTS on my upgraded 5S either.

Yes. I've seen this before on past updates then things seem to settle down.

Edit - I missed the quote. I was responding to the hesitation remark.

Yes, same here. I see UPDATE initially then they change to open but the App Store has the badge still indicating they are not updated. And my Twitter app is just stuck with an icon indicating installing - been that way for hours.

I put iOS 9 on my iPhone 5 this morning- seems to run OK. Too soon to know if the amount of battery runtime will be increased.

There is a Low Power Mode (which reduces power consumption when the battery is low), but it is disabled by default (Settings > Battery will enable you to turn it on).

I also disabled the ability of the Keyboard to alternate between lower-case and upper-case letters. Some people might like this, but it seemed gimmicky to me.

Seems a bit faster now but the FTS is still a bit slower than I would it to be. It just isn't as smooth as the iOS 8 version of it. If you ask me, I like the iOS 8 version of the FTS better than the iOS 9 version of it.

i like the cards. i also like the 'infographic' icons on things like when you swipe in the mail app.

the font adjustment is a bit different. takes some time to get used to it.

fts seems about as smooth as everything else. i feel a bit of lag throughout the ui, tho.

definitely not unusable.

i'm a fan.

Grabbed the update this afternoon on both of my iDevices.

Oddly enough I'm noticing better power consumption on my iPad 4th gen (Using it to watch MLB at Bat) under 8.4.1. a few hours of streaming to it and the battery would take a large hit, hit is still there mind you but at least its reporting as being less.

No changes on my iPhone 6+

Resolved for me now. My Twitter is still pear-shaped though. It won't install.

This update lowered my screen brightness (I use auto) on all devices. It's been a while since that setting was jacked with. I am sure they hoped to slip that one in as an attempt to improve battery numbers further.

At least one FL State agency has been told not to accept the update on their state issued 6+ iPhones.

Apparently it is causing issues with getting their state e-mail on the device, not sure on their exact setup though.

Going to wait to update the family's phones. I know if it doesn't go well the WAF and DAF will plummet, driving me insane.
