Picture with Arris 6-TunerThis may be a strange one but none the less if you don't ask you'll never know.
Previously I had a Cisco 2-Tuner DVR. Great Picture.....
2 weeks ago I swapped it out for a Voyager 6-Tuner Arris. Love the way so far its recorded all I asked it to record....at one time it was recording 4 programs.....
Issue I have is the Picture. Keeping in mind the 6-Tuner is connected to the same TV with the same HDMI Cable, the picture is Dark. It no longer is the great well adjusted Brightness picture I had when I had the 6 Tuner Cisco...and friends who have come since I got the 6-Tuner have commented, what did you do to your Picture....its so much darker than before. Yep, I realize you can adjust Brightness, Contrast, etc...and yes, I use the Standard Settings as opposed to Dynamic, but I am comparing as its aid, "Apples to Apples"...with my setting, great bright Vivid Picture with the 2-Tuner Cisco, not that way with the 6-Tuner Arris.
Anyone else noticed this that may have made a similar change in Cable Boxes? |

Honestly my first guess would be bad box. I have the exact same unit and the experience for me was quite the opposite. |

I upgraded a few weeks ago as well, and I noticed the picture didn't look too sharp. The installer left and came back to the door a few minutes later. He said the signal was weak, and had to change some wiring. After he left the picture was much better. So, it could be a weak signal. Maybe the best thing to do is switch out the box or call Bright House and ask for a tech to come out. |
