Cox → Re: [AZ] Arris TG2472

I have to rent a modem since I have phone service for bundle pricing, so I swapped for the 2472 to get the new ultimate speeds. Took two calls before the right config for speed got applied, and I don't think the phone works (though I can't confirm since I don't physically own a landline phone) because the log is full of MTA errors. I just have it in bridge mode to my own router and I'm getting ~310/32 so I'm happy.

Thanks.. Did a tech install that for you?? They wouldn't give me a self install option.
They sold me mine since I have phone with them also I figured I buy the thing for $149.

They sold you a TG2472? In a Cox 'store'? I picked one up at a store and did a self-install (with phone). Was told you could only rent them for 9.99/mth.

Had a tech come out and re-do the drop from box to house as modem was dropping errors. They charged me for both truck roll and self install kit. What kit? Modem-in-a-box? Got both charges reversed.

No, I ordered when I called Cox sales by phone.
The sales person was not in the know about the Arris 2472 until he put me on hold a few times to inquire. I'm going to call them back to confirm The Arris 2472 is what they will be bringing on Saturday. I'll update this when confirmed.

Update.. OMG I called to confirm and all the person who answered could tell me was Yes I see someone is coming out but.."I hope he brings the correct modem " Really?? He couldn't tell me what modem I purchased?

I don't think Cox can sell you a Phone modem gateway. Also, you can't buy something and have a technician deliever it. When you order something, your buying it from the warehouse, so the warehouse has to mail it to you. If they are just sending a technician and hoping he has not just has a phone modem, not even a phone modem gateway, but the newest phone modem gateway, then I think your going to be out of luck.

no tech required, I just handed over my old DPQ3212 at the solutions store and got the Arris. Because I had to have a tech out when I first got phone, maybe I bypassed the required truck roll

@spiketoo mine is a rental, I was renting the DPQ3212 as part of the bundle but had it in a drawer since I already had an (8-channel) modem provisioned. Since I have to pay for the rental, I figured why not actually get some benefit from it.
