Re: [FiOS] Congestion in Bothell? So far I can say that it's even worse than usual. I'm seeing speeds in the 1 Mbps range at times, spiking at ~20 Mbps right now. I pay for 150/150. Can't even watch twitch. Contacting them tomorrow to have them remove payments, this is just insanely bad. |

I'm in the Silver Firs area and it's really bad today. Less than 5Mbps down and I pay for 100/100. Is anybody noticing degradation of On Demand also? We're getting choppy audio and digitized video, but that's been going on much longer than my speed issues. |

VOD is delivered over IP (e.g. your Internet connection). When your Internet is bad (enough) your VOD playback will suffer.
I will say that it used to be that when you were using VOD, it would NOT impact your maximum Internet speed. For example, I have 25/25 and I could watch VOD without any issues and run speed tests and still get 25/25 and VOD would be fine. That's no longer the case and hasn't been for many months now. |

Still faster than 52% of the US. :-/ |

I think that is because of the upload being relatively high... |

Another nice 5 hour downtime last night, pings are all screwy again since it came back. Had several 20+ minute down times this month as well. I think we're barely pushing 2 9's of uptime these days :| I'm seriously considering giving comcast or comcast business w/ an SLA a chance again as much as I hate them. I just want my current upload speeds...

Yeah, I saw that downtime as well, I called customer support they insisted that nothing was going on in the area. The problems are getting serious now, I really don't want to switch back to comcast but I can't deal with this kind of downtime. |
