nekkidtruth posted : I've had my SPA112 connected to FPL for 3 years now. Not a single complaint from myself or the other side. I actually use voip.ms for my cellphone (I have data-only SIM and ported my mobile number to voip.ms). Combined with the data usage and my phone calls, my cell phone bill hovers around $25/month. That being said, I've started forwarding my FPL to my voip software on my phone as well, so I'll be retiring the SPA112 to my dad when I switch him over :)
--
Weeeeeee

InvalidError posted : My father got cheesed when he got phone installed at his new apartment: the bill was mysteriously $8/month higher for basic phone with no options. When he called to complain, they dropped the bill to $16/month, then that crept up to $18/month two or three months later, then $22/month and I think he got a letter about a $5 hike two months ago, which puts him back against the $30/month mark for basic home phone.

I have been using freephoneline.ca for a few years with my tablet as my SIP phone but people I called that way often complained about sound quality. I decided to get an SPA112 and move my FPL line to that to hopefully make it easier to convince friends and family who complain about rising phone bills to give VoIP a try. I haven't managed to convert any of them yet but at least they cannot tell the difference between POTS and VoIP calls anymore, so that's one less reason they can give me for dismissing VoIP.

resare posted : Classic Bell behavior...

I closed my last account with Bell Canada 5 months ago. I had DSL Internet, home phone and mobile phone with them 24 months ago.

In Feb 2014, I moved my Internet to a TPIA (Electronic Box cable). The calls then began (Bell Nordia)...all of a sudden I was an important customer, and the specials kept getting better from call to call. However, I was fed up with DSL, and the door-to-door salespeople of Bell (the blue shirts) were not honest with regards to their Fibe offer (I had to educate them on the diff between FTTN and FTTH....). Their "deals" were so opaque, and they could not tell me the prices clearly.

Then in Sept 2014, I moved my home phone to voip.ms. Got calls from Bell Nordia offering me free home phone for 1 year. I just knew there would be fine print and hidden fees, so I declined their "incredible offer". Plus try to beat voip.ms at 2.50$/month for a line and all the extra functionality (ring groups, voice mail to email, etc...):)

Now June 2015, I moved my mobile phone account to Rogers, and I found that sad, as I gave Bell Canada 3 opportunities (calling into retention department) to match the price that Rogers was offering me (Rogers offered the plan I wanted at 72$/month as Bell would not go lower than 80$/month)....to no avail...so they lost a 15 years mobile customer for 8$/month difference.

Bell Canada should learn to take care of their current customers, instead of trying to regain ex-customers. I am frustrated at Bell Canada, as they would not value my patronage when I was their customer, but as soon as I left, I was all of a sudden an important potential customer.

Thanks for hearing me out (sorry if this might be seen as trolling).

Bell is full of FRAUDS

Eurotik posted : BELL is a piece of *****.

I requested to port over my Home Phone with Rogers as they were offering me a decent deal. I start getting phone calls from Bell's overseas department 5 times a day and 4 of those times when I pick up nobody would say anything. The 5th time some lady tells me she can offer met free internet 25/10 for a year and $18 credit towards my home phone on NO CONTRACT if I stay. So I ask her what the catch is several times and she says there is none..obviously it sounds too good to be true. I commit to an installation date and proceed cancel my home phone installation with Rogers. The following day still skeptical about this offer I call Bell to speak to somebody in customer service to clarify the offer and have a breakdown of what it is exactly. This agent tells me the offer is genuine and it indeed is 1 year free internet and an ongoing credit for home phone for 1 year. The following day which is a day before internet installation I log on to BELL.CA to check the order and I see the internet package is set at Internet Promo- 3months. I immediately call in and ask about this because I am STILL skeptical about this offer. The agent tells me the offer I was given for internet does not exist, she speaks to a manager and then tells me there is no way in the system for them to offer me this and whoever offered me it just merely sent a request to loyalty for it but the offer in reality doesn't exist. I proceed to tell the agent how horrible this is for business and how they're essentially being deceptive to clients. I then cancel the internet installation and home phone. Screw BELL, if I hadn't done by due diligence several times I would be stuck with their internet free for 3 months and on the 4th month been screwed. They pretty much lied. I'm not angry at not getting the promo I'm just angry at being lied to.
