[CenturyTel] Noisy Phone Line

A local business has Century Tel telephone service. One line has a loud hum on it. The other lines are phone. CT is saying that there is nothing they can do to solve the problem, that they are out of cable pairs. Telephone service is regulated in our state, so I don't think that they can refuse to fix the problem, which is obviously a cable issue. What would you do if the problem were yours?

Call the state office that controls them. Heard that happening all over the country and not just CL.
I think the FCC may help. Wonder if they said anything about about fiber feed which AT&T and Verizon seem to be pushing. If they have internet service, they could check on Voice Over IP service from another vendor.

Thanks. They provide the Internet, and it's worse than the telephone.

Wow !! Where is that. So far I have very good service where I am. I can also get Comcast here so guess they are on their toes. I am in a city Northeast of Denver, about 15 miles.
