Security → Java 8 Update 66 out

It looks like Java 8 Update 66 is available:

It seems that the Java installation is no longer uninstalling previous versions. I now have both u65 and u66 installed. The folders for u60 still exists in the "\Program Files (x86)\Java" directory but nothing shows in the Programs and Features list for it???

Edit: I uninstalled u65 and manually deleted the u60 folders. I could not find anything in the Registry for u60. I used CCleaner and it found one entry.

Same here. I manually uninstalled U65. For now, I left 60 alone as it is disabled.

From an article in the Mozilla forum, this may have been just a fix for an issue that was sometimes causing Firefox to crash.

No need to update unless you're using Firefox with Java

there is 2 .66, one release along with .65, another one just released days ago. the exe Details, File version: 8.0.660.18 vs 8.0.660.17
