Thanks. I found a thread in google discussing fq_codel algorithm; which judging by your screenshot; is what your router is using.

Time to start asking questions to TAC.

I used to run a Cisco 1841 that maxed at 33 down due to zone-based firewall, but now I run a Cisco 2821 and the speeds are back to full throttle for my Ultra 50 package.

I downloaded a 4 GB Fedora distro and that zoomed right down without spiked pings or loss of connectivity. But despite adjusting IP MTU and TCP MSS both arbitrarily and by using mturoute utility, the best buffer float score I get is C.

Mturoute reported max MTU of 1472 without fragmentation before the hops beyond the modem complained the packet was too big.

The lower MTU or TCP MSS setting, the further connection quality degrades. Right now quality scores an A with default MTU and TCP MSS.

The Motorola SB6141 I use is my own, so I suppose that could be a reason.

Did you happen to see things like T3/T4 timeouts in the logs? Upstream of 47 is fine, so it is likely that you had an impairment which knocked out the 2 frequencies. After enough failures, it stops trying to bond frequencies until the next reboot. It cleared, and the modem reset brought it back (it is never "normal reporting" to list just one when using more than one). If it doesn't happen again you have nothing to worry about, but if it does then there is likely something causing ingress, or a faulty device inline that CV will need to identify to fix.

I'm using DD-WRT build 25697 (on a v1.7 router).
QOS is set for prioritizing A,F,S,R packets, using the HTB/FQ_CODEL algorithms. (120000 Down, 40000 Up on Ultra 101 tier). :) No other User/Protocol-specific QOS restrictions.

yes it should but with QOS enabled (dd-wrt router) it takes a little off both the UL & DL otherwise the bufferbloat would be D or F

The OOL reply this time was “Yes, upstream is going to only have 1 channel that shows information, the other are for use later on if needed”. Needless to say I don’t full understanding of the modem stats however I’m fairly certain when I checked the stats previously all three channels were registering…

If your upstream channels have came back online no further reporting is necessary as it already fixed.
