Maybe it is the fact i have owned a small business but i get so tired of the whole they are rich and don't need to be nonsense. They own mega companies so yes they are making many millions a year. Now every one works for x per hour. TWC wasn't much of any thing when they started yes they are over charging and that does need to stop. But the whole acting like it is so evil that a company turns a profit stuff i mean seriously. Do you pro vie your service to your boss for free? Are you willing to take a pay cut? Or are you always working to get the next raise or promotion?

Maybe its how much more they make than the people who actually make the company function. owning a small business means you actually have long hours and hard work to make a living.

The big thing is that salaries and hourly rates for the people who do the hard work in big companies have not kept pace with the cost of living or inflation. Should the CEO really make many hundreds of times more than the CS reps?

We're all smart enough here (except a few shills) that understand a company has to make a profit.

Those of us who complain about these mega-corporations making insane amounts of profits WHILE raising rates to make even more insane levels of profits is because they have stepped over the line from profits to price gouging.

Not just the obscene profits. Worse is the big corporate water head, with executives overpaid by factor 100, the corporate jets, flower arrangements 10k/week for CEO's office , quarter billion $ golden parachutes and more.

Can you imagine what it would feel like to be seen in the same yacht twice?! Oh the nightmares I have about this.

And why shouldn't they? If i owned a company like twc comcast etc and i was not making a killing i would simply hang p my hat and say screw it. Those who have not owned a buis have no clue the stress involved. I had a nice little comp shop just me and a friend i gave it up because of the stress. I was able to run it just fine and make a living. But the diff between the money i could make freelance and owning the company was just north of 10k more. It just was not worth it to me. Now take that stress and times it by say oh 100 and yes these guys make a boat load and are stinking rich but why shouldn't they be so?

If you or me foul up on our taxes we get smacked with penalties if comcast twc etc screw up they loose literally millions and risk jail time. When your dealing with 100 1000 10k employees and their paroles it come bite you in the ass in a real hurry. As i was the owner of my shop and my friend a quote un qoute employee i cut the payroll check. I screwed up on his taxes just once and was slapped with a 300 dolor penalty one year. Now heres the thing my little error was one that had i had say 10 12 20 100 it would have been on all their checks meaning 300 per.

Should the ceo make many hundreds of times more than his employees hell yes. All we ever hear about is fines for unfair buis practices we do not hear any thing about the potentially 100s of 1000s a year in penalties for accounts foul ups. Now heres the thing companies like comcast twc etc are milking their customers for every dime possible. They do so in dirty ways which has to stop. These companies need slapped hard and in big ways.

But to say oh this ceo is making millions a year and shouldn't. is nonsense.

so you have no issue with companies have hundreds or thousands of workers barely able to get by even with food stamps while the CEO who does far less work and has far less stress has multiple homes and possibly a boat and a jet.

If pay scales for the people who work for a living in the company vs the CEOs getting out on thursday to play golf for three days were more even there would not be these discussions but these discussions exist because executive level pay constantly grows while the working people sit stagnant.

The corporate Gulfstream is a perk! Please...no champagne stains on the leather or the berber.
