Ok. So do you have packet loss on your line? What does your latency and jitter look like? What about SNR?

packet loss on what my phone? The phone service is VOIP from the cable service but does not use the same channel as the internet service.

If you have any issues -- such as packet loss, excessive latency, or jitter -- you'll notice it during conversations. VOIP services are very sensitive and intolerant to line faults. VOIP requires a constant stream of error free data.

You're unlikely to notice these problems with standard data, because it isn't reliant on exact real time delivery.
