Re: Thousand Oaks VS Adelphia

Hob, for the first couple of years I ran a Lan City. The Lan City started to have problems and was replaced with a newer DOCSIS Toshiba 1100PXU. At first I was a bit apprehensive to go with the Docsis and I did not want to lose my static IP, however after getting on the Docsis system I was pleasntly surprised. Not only was the upload cap set at 512kbps as oppsed to the Lan City's 128kbps cap but Verizon set up some kind of IP reservations where each MAC (from the NIC) would always pull the same IP on DCHP renews. Not a bad deal after all.
