Google doesn't want to be a carrier. That's the thing. They were bidding on spectrum a few years ago and then bailed when they realized it was going to cost money and they actually had to support a user based beyond their generic web support system that is pointless to use for any help. Even with FI they don't have to support their users as its a "beta"- aka with G- has a limited working life span. Anything that costs Google money always comes to an end. That's the reason they have a new CFO the share holders want $$$$$ and they want it NOW. Not later.

It's not "beta". It's a "Project" LOL. At least when I have posted something that doesn't look favorable, they REMIND me it's a PROJECT and not BETA. Then I tell them, "your PROJECT isn't ready for prime time much less go live till you figure out some issues. But at least in the end, I can take my phone to Sprint or TMO. GPF is over priced anyway for anyone to take serious and based on what you said, why are they bothering with fiber if they dont' want to be a carrier?
