I realise that but I know I can get 6.5 easy after the tech ran multiple speed tests, and then told me they would have to turn the cap down to match the 5. I'd still like to post the stats as asked above, in order to tell for sure because if I do end up calling them to figure this out, I'd like to be able to have some numbers from the modem to back up my claims. How can I access the modem? When I plug my computer directly to it, windows just says there is no internet access on the LAN network and it won't connect to it

You might be able to call/email your ISP and ask them to pull the line stats from your Line Card during the day, as well as a second time at night. They should also be able to tell you what 'profile' your set to.

If I'm reading correctly, it sounds like a congestion or traffic-shaping issue...
