They really seem stumped about how to solve this. You're right about Google Fiber, unfortunately they seem to be building on the Northside of town atm and i'm on the Southside, so it may be a while yet for folks like me. AT&T does have fiber internet for my household, but i'm wary of them for the 2 year commitment+privacy fee for them not to use your browsing data for ad revenue+data caps without bundles or extra cost

You absolutely must stay on them about this. They will let it go for a while and try to "get back with you" or "keep an eye on it." They need to prioritize this issue for you because it is crippling. Document everything you can also because they tend to try to say they have nothing on file about your situation at the call center and you'll have to explain to them what's going on. Also use your wallet as leverage too, you should not pay for the service when it is effectively broken and not being fixed in a timely fashion. I won't pay them one more cent until it's fixed, or I will leave them and that's why they supposedly got this guy working on it everyday for me at the moment.
