One in two users click on links from unknown senders

»www.fau.eu/2016/08/25/ne ··· senders/

So, education isn't enough:

The results of the experiment were clear: up to 56 percent of e-mail recipients and around 40 percent of facebook users clicked on a link from an unknown sender although they knew of the risks of their computer becoming infected with a virus. And the main reason? Curiosity.

No wonder the malware war won't end, plenty of willing victims that believe they can ignore warnings.

Any why not?

URL links?
Attachment links?

URL link, so long as it opens in my browser, & my browser is properly protected, then so what.

Attachment link, I'd be more hesitant about, because at that point you're dealing more with mime-types & how the OS handles the (supposed) file association.

Yawn.
Naivety exists in all of life. Online, offline. Email, snail mail. Computers, automobiles, homes, phone solicitations, service contracts, medical 'remedies'.

Such a deal I got for you.

Human nature. People can't resist looking to see what's behind the link.
