There is nothing to argue. You are using "2g cdma" to describe something that has to do with what band they are using to transmit the signal, not the technology that's being used and transmitted.

Which as I stated before, makes absolutely no sense. At very best the difference would be non-consequential when comparing 2g transmission vs LTE transmission over the same band, as the band itself is what controls it's penetration and propagation characteristics.

Yes, sure, propagation .
As far as penetration, there seems to be a difference in technologies even if you use the same frequency.
And since I was referring to AMPS, reception remains longer audible than on digital with decreasing signal .
And most importantly, the question remains whether they will actually cover all the rural CDMA 2000 areas with LTE technology, something what did not 100% happen with the retirement of AMPS.

Actually, the transmission mode can create a difference. The channel width matters a lot. GSM and CDMA are resilient because they are very small slices.

Most LTE is at 5x5 minimum, which can deal with interference a lot better than a 20x20 channel. I'm not super up on CDMA channel sizes, but for GSM, the slices are 200mhz (dropping the "x 200mhz" stuff from here out), whereas the smallest UMTS channel is 3.8mhz and the smallest LTE is 1.4 (although no one in the US has deployed less than 5 afaik). We're seeing a big difference in coverage on the same frequencies between GSM and LTE.

I've always heard LTE signals do not have the range of CDMA because they can't amplify the power as much as they can with other technologies such as CDMA 2000. But that was some time ago and technology has progressed a lot since then so perhaps that is no longer the case.
