Re: Important Announcement for all Bright House Forum Users

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Gary, Is Charter at least going to pull their heads out of the sand and have a direct forum there or are we all basically screwed and damned to deal with horrible phone support from here on out.

I hope they keep you and Antal on board, they're effing idiots if they don't.

They did. They just put it somewhere else.

Yeah, in their ass.

From the day the charter merger was announced I knew they were going to screw us all, this is just the tip of the iceberg...

When Charter took over my ISP I got a HUGH new monthly bill with no increase in speed and fewer TV channels.

As bad as this is, I think we need to give Charter the benefit of the doubt. We all knew changes were going to happen and the first real change we're feeling is this one and it's one we don't like.

Let's see how things pan out in our service and monthly bills and look beyond others' anecdotal evidence before we start trashing Charter so soon. Everyone has had a bad experience with a cable co at one time or anther. They may be worth trashing but again let's experience them first-hand before we start doing it to them.

I'm still optimistic (perhaps naively) this will overall be better for us. You and I both being Brevardians, we're stuck with them regardless and have no other real choice so let's think happy thoughts. Granted this was not helpful in that regard.

The point about this Forum SAVES call ins to support....Charter if they truly wanted to provide a high level service experience should have seen this forum as a Money saver. Saves calls to tech support, and all of us have had that experience of seemly taking forever to explain the issue, being transferred to someone else if the 1st agent couldn't help. In this forum it took very little explaining, providing your Mac address....and in a high percentage of cases, problem solved, and, if not, Truck roll was set. And, when Gary or Antal scheduled a truck roll, the call was required...and the Tech came in knowing what the issue was and how to fix it. Over my 25+ yrs with this company thru its name changes, I can't tell you how many times (and it was before I knew about, or if this Forum existed)...that an agent said I needed a Truck roll, the Guy would come in amazed that an appt was set for something that should have been fixed without the visit...and the Tech simply called in and explained what was need to be done.

This was an excellent tool, and it saved money...and the powers to be at Charter are simply looking to make changes to make this company...Charter. Just look at their Customer Service ratings among providers, last I saw they were not far from...Last Place.

How many times over the rears did you lose Service, call in and find the phones Busy, chat Busy...to go out to this forum and there it was...someone reported it here...and a response was there from Gary or Antal.

I have looked at Facebook and Twitter....sorry, that isn't for me even if it works....which many have reported it does not.

Charter should be a Bull in a China shop.....change shouldn't be change because they can do it....if they truly wanted to improve their Customer Service levels, if they truly wanted to keep BHN customers feeling like the buy-out was good for the customer...they would\could have left this alone.

Any truth that Charter is planning to offer 2 Internet speeds....60mb and 300mb....and that's it? I could see this taking place...less Billing codes for fewer speeds. For me, 60 is to slow, but 300 will be an overkill.

If the information released so far is accurate, BHN markets upgraded to 300 currently would see two packages of 100 Mbps and 300 Mbps. Let's hope this is the case.

Re: Important Announcement for all Bright House Forum Users

It's a bad move and this is coming from a former Charter employee and long-time subscriber. The regular support channels don't lend themselves well to unique or complex issues, delaying or making resolution virtually impossible without going to the local franchise authority and/or media.

Charter, for a short time, understood the limitations of traditional support offerings and wisely augmented it with social media. Unfortunately, the current management doesn't see it this way.

It seems Charter is trying to consolidate and does have a Twitter support team: »twitter.com/Ask_Spectrum

Look at NY - we got the shaft on MAXX upgrades that were stalled the day NY approved the merger. And we get the Charter BS but none of the benefits (free modem)

Oh, don't worry the modem is NOT "free" the cost of the rental is included into the price you pay for the service itself....so with Charter it appears there are NO BENEFITS for the ordinary customer, but you can bet that Charter CEO Tom Rutledge IS going to benefit GREATLY with an even bigger salary and more benefits and a huge golden parachute!
