Re: [cCable] Faster Upload speeds in the near future?said by Marcer:Tier7 (250/20) is listed on the TPIA tariff... Ah, then I presume just like in Rogers area its just too expensive for any TPIA to offer it at a reasonable price... |

It would be nice if they throttled down the download and kept the upload the same.. it's the download that's what drives the costs up, isnt it? |

The 250/20 access rate is also $14/mo more than the current interim 120/10.
...which is strange (although not limited to Cogeco) since all the incumbents were ordered to move the usage sensitive components from the access rate into the capacity rate, and yet somehow almost all the access rates went up. :-/ |

Does that mean it's something that you could offer @rocca? I would MUCH rather pay you for this service than pay them (especially considering all the time I've been wasting to just get an answer, not awe inspiring). |

Well I would much more happily pay a TPIA a reasonable fee above what C is charging just so I don't have to try and deal with them ... so someone (Rocca) please take my money! |

said by Gerk:Well I would much more happily pay a TPIA a reasonable fee above what C is charging just That's the problem, it can't be reasonable with current CBB rates. On top of that $55.81, the capacity costs are insanely high. A 100Mbps link with Cogeco costs $716.00/mo, or a 1gb link for $7,160.00. If you used your connect to capacity at peak hours, you'd effectively be consuming $1800 worth of capacity. |

Well at this point I can't even get a proper price from C let alone have them confirm their modems are capable of bridging so maybe I'll just shut up and keep using my current 60/10 or whatever it is and be happy. |

OK, here's a thought.
Never mind doing MLPPP, but have you considered getting TWO cable feeds at, say 30/10 for $50 each from START, plus two modem rentals if you do not own two already, and get a router with dual WAN inputs to blend them at YOUR end ?
Or, for a bonus of redundancy, one feed and modem could be VDSL at 25/10, if you can get that in your 'hood.
Of course, if you needed unlimited usage, it would be a bit more, but would the idea in general satisfy your needs ?

No, no standard bonding or other MLPPP type solution is what I'm looking for. I really want/need a single pipe with more bandwidth. Bonding, while sounding good in theory, never really works out the way you expect it will. I specifically need to be able to do a single stream of (up to) 20Mbit. Bonding and/or other teaming type solutions will not achieve this. |

Multiple lines could be made to work for you by tunneling through a rented server but you may not want to spend the time setting that up. |
