Re: Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Against Remington/Bushmaster (Sandy Hook Shooting)What you consider a type of product liability lawsuits that should be considered against Remington? Any of the ones I've seen recently had no basis. |

Oh I think they have been fighting for that walker trigger on the Model 700 for a very long time. I've heard it could have been the accumulation of grit in the trigger group. I've also heard you don't want to drop one and then either return it to safe or take it off of safe. Remington sure went to a lot of trouble keeping things sealed up and its been a "known" risk since the 1970s and they are just getting around to replacing triggers but not admitting anything is wrong.
Remington also does other cute stuff with certain models as they make a minor design change and add a 0 or other numeral to the model designation so the model is no longer in production. Then they charge a premium to fix them or quit stocking parts. I own a few of their products but I don't own any 700s. I like their bullets and some of their hunting tools with other model designations. However, I don't think they are a good corporate citizen when it comes to taking care of the people who buy their products. |
