[BHN] Re: New Charter (Spectrum) pricing expected in CFL - 11/15/16

I just chatted with a rep online to upgrade my internet. Was told 200Mbps internet is $107/mo, 300Mbps is $199/mo and I cannot get new Spectrum prices/speeds/packages as it's for new customers only lol

How long did the chat take to initiate? I've been waiting for quite some time.

That is the same information I received today. The rep seemed to know the system so it has not changed in over a month. Also she told me that if I went with a Spectrum package max speed offered is 100MB. She said 200 and 300 are only offered under old BHN pricing.

I have this thread and it seems like a lot of contradictory information is being given and to me it all really confusing. When will get the truth?

[UPDATE] If you call "Retention" department they seem to have the right prices. The real retail price to Ultra 300 is $99.00. If you switch from Lightning 200 there is NO service of $199 as reported by some.

Just called the 855-222-0102 and asked for the "Retention" department. The rep confirmed Spectrum retail, no promo, price for Ultra 300 is $99 and because I had 200 Lightning there is NO install charge.

I need a new eMTA box so he scheduled a truck for Monday.

Does anyone know which eMTA they use? I asked that it put in bridged mode as I have TP-LINK C5400 router. Can we access the menus on the new boxes? On the old Ubees we were locked out of the admin menus.

I have the Ubee eMTA and apparently not suited for 300 MB. I think they are supplying the Arris TG1682g.

yea they gave me a TG1682G when they installed 300 mb for us. Yes you can go to »192.168.100.1:8080/ then enter admin and the password is on the sticker on the bottom of unit then you can go to Lan section and set it to bridge mode no problem

Do you need to have an ethernet cable direct from computer into the Arris to do this or can you attach the router first and go through the router to the modem's admin page?

I think you mean "Do you need to have an ethernet cable direct from computer into the Arris to do this, or can you DO THE ADMIN THROUGH THE WIRELESS?"

(modem, router, and wireless AP radio(s) are separate, but connected internally, elements within the overall box. We tend to generically call the whole gateway device"the router," but it is actually more than that.)

What I mean is when I want to switch the TG1862G into bridge mode from routing mode, do I need to attach a PC directly to the modem to access the settings, or can I leave my router plugged into Port 1 and access the modem's IP through my own router with my PC connected to my router?

Oh sorry. I can do that through my ASUS into an SB admin page. Suppose yours would too, but don't know about what you have.

Well, the answer is I can get to all the admin pages through the router, but it came already bridged or they configured it that way when installing. Not sure because when the tech first booted it all the wifi lights were then he went out to his truck and said he would hook up my router after the modem rebooted. When it did the lights were off.

The tech (contractor) had limited english skills so I am not sure what he said.

That's good. They have been known to bridge the router part (turning it into a pure modem) BUT still leave the radios on and transmitting but not doing anything just using electricity and cluttering frequencies.
