Tech called his supervisor to report the problem. The supervisor called me 30 minutes later to inform me that all seemed to be fine on their end, and that I have to call RCN customer service to have my package re-initialized.

I called RCN customer service and they informed me that Smithsonian was not part of the News and Information package, and they couldn't do anything about it unless that I switched to the Premium HD package. CSR was very friendly but couldn't fix my problem. I am very frustrated that I left TWC to join RCN because Smithsonian was part of the News and Premiere package and somehow it seems that it is false advertisement.

I got a mail promotion from RCN with all new 2016 New York channels lined up and it shows Smithsonian as part of News and premiere package.

It would be nice if someone can hep me with this issue. Otherwise it seems that I will be switching back to TWC/ Spectrum.....
