Thanks for the suggestions - unfortunately, the firewall is turned off, and no IRQ conflicts.....

Are you saying that there is no IRQ sharing there or no conflicts? Mine did not show any conflicts. The IRQ steering takes over and is suppose to make it work but it does not do such a good job. If you boot up and your BIOS shows your IRQ assignments and it shows the same IRQ for your NIC or your card slots and something else it still could be an IRQ thing. Mine worked but not with all data transfers until I got a separate IRQ.
