[Networking] Configure VPN through FIOS G1100 to Home Internal Network..

Hi All...

Please forgive me is this is not new or posted elsewhere.

I'd like to know how to configure the FIOS G1100 to support VPN into my home network.

My topology is as such:

Internet FIOS G1100 Meraki GW Home Network

Pretty basic setup. My Meraki GW has VPN services I'd like to use to get access to my home network, but externally I cannot login successfully. Although the Public IP is seen on the Meraki GW - officially it's held by the G1100...

I had a Verizon router setup as passthrough before getting FIOS (I also have it's HDTV service as well as MoCA service) so the Meraki GW is the true GW. But now no luck.

Any assistance would be appreciative.

Thanks Everyone

Assign your Meraki GW a static IP and put it in the DMZ of the Quantum Router.

Hi Fibergeek...

Thanks for the reply! It's already getting a 192.168.1.x from the G1100 via DHCP on its WAN port....

So should I now just put it into the DMX on the Quantum Router?

For my external clients what address do I VPN to? The Public?

Yes, just make sure the IP is a static IP on your local network. When you add it to the DMZ, it exposes it to the internet so the Meraki GW can work properly without being behind another firewall.

You would connect to the public ip normally in your VPN client. Just note if you don't have a static public IP, it may change at anytime.
