DirecTV → Equipment upon new install

Getting DTV installed soon, trying to figure out what the latest equipment is so I don't get old hardware..
HR54 genie and C61K clients?

If they show up with old equipment do I refuse the install? It's been years since I've had DTV and I remember having a big issue with this last time.

Did you request 4K service? If you did then you would get a HR54 (installed) on a Non- 4K tv & a C61K installed on your 4K TV.

If No 4K service then you may get a HR54 or a HR44 depends on what the installer has on his truck and or work order. the 54 & 44 are only different in the fact that the HR54 can record 4K-has 7 tuners for that us a RB lnb (only play back to a C61K using MRV) and the 44 has a RJ11 jack for CID -the 54 has NO port for that.

If I am reading correctly, did you say that it only plays back to C61K clients? Or did you mean, it only plays 4K back to the C61K?

The hr54 will Record 4K & only play 4k recordings to a 4K tv over MRV Connection- The C61K Will only Output 4K over HDMI 2.2 Connected to a 4K tv (broadcast by D*).

In my area at least, all the guys out here just have HR54 genies. HR44 would work just the same if you're not getting 4k. The C61K clients are only used for 4k service - we've been using C61 (non-k) clients out here for customers not getting 4k service, occasionally we get C51 clients instead.
