This is like the DailyKOS of broadband news....

The liberal spin Karl puts on news (Republicans=BAD, Dems=GOOD) is quite blatant, but I've known that for years. The mistake I made was not looking elsewhere, assuming this was a comprehensive source for news on the subject of telecommunications. What I found was a lot of important issues, directly relating to broadband or cell phone regulation, are simply not reported here if it involves a Republican and can't be made to reflect badly on them. Every item here involving a Republican is spun negatively. Last week Commisisoner Pai moved to block robocalls from spoofed numbers. That's a good thing right? Was failing to report that an oversight? Try this, search for "Republican" going back to November and find a single article with that term that isn't negative. Find ONE.

Or do it for both parties. If you dig through the 135mil hits, you can always find something to push ones agenda.

I think you are confusing this site with breitbart. Over there they want free walls, free deportation armies, etc.

That's been the same for years, yet you somehow created a new account 2 weeks ago just to complain about liberal spin? Or your old account(s) got purged with everyone else that seem to have vanished from news comments in the last few weeks.

While you view things as being painted as "Dems=GOOD" you're obviously missing all the dirt bag things they do for money... or perhaps those things are ok?

It is obvious though, if most things here were all pro business or pro industry, there wouldn't even be a whisper of political spin, because all the anons hiding behind their keyboard would be happy knowing money is moving.

Which pisses off all the ones that want to profit off of "everyone".

Well shit, and to think I thought I paid my ISP dollars for the internet. I guess I should start a line of communications with them to determine what is the best way they can be compensated for my personal information because it would be wrong for me to give them that data for "free" and they obviously deserve to be paid for my personal data they use.

I'm sure that rural broad band subsidies that gave out million$ a few years back.. totally legit when the government gives corporations money.

We get it, only government money given to businesses with that result trickling down and having the possibility of benefiting consumers is best for our country as viewed in a name-on-a-map sort of thing. You and others have made this very clear, with certain aspects like ISP using private data with no auditing being a huge desire worth steering public opinion.

It's almost like this legal method of collecting data, that went from unregulated, to regulated, to legalized in law (yes it wasn't just repealed because law doesn't work that way).. this method that can be used and sold and also used to overlay what was likely a vast use of the data for other purposes won't just provide profit but will also provide legal cover for those other activities with it... especially since old data isn't of much use, but todays data is a goldmine.

I also do have to thank you for being a typical run-of-the-mill economist type, it keeps that sector propped up like one would expect. A world where everything should only happen if money is spent to do it to keep this endless cycle of money circulating.

You really are butt-hurt about the possibility of an internet service provider not being able to legally sell their customer's data with no records or accountability of what data it is and who they are selling it to. The ISP that gets credit information from customers to connect exacting personal information including dates of birth, relations to others, maiden names, social security numbers, banking information... I mean a person might not deserve credit (just kidding).. might get a higher interest rate if they use paypal a lot and the ISP records this information legally and sends it along to those that seek it.

So mr. crybaby snowflak that's butthurt. Lets recap your concerns.

Corporate subsides. Ignored.

Secret selling of personal data. Ignored.

Secret collecting of data given government or private security outfits. Ignored.

But hey, you're just part of this new account crowd that has complained since day 1 here about everything that doesn't make it easy for corporate america. Why would anyone expect anything but childish behavior.

And you are part of the old account crowd that is so philanthropic with everyone else's money. Free music then, unlimited everything now, typical of the self-absorbed, narcissistic millennial generation. Gimme, gimme, gimmie, send everyone else the bill for my stuff....old account crowd.
