Re: SB8200 certification ?

Actually I thought of a way of checking right after I posted. I checked my cable modem's logs. And then looked up the mac address for the "CMTS-MAC=" value. Sure enough the first 6 digits belong to Cisco Systems!

So I guess my question now is is this a documented issue somewhere? Is comcast aware of this issue?

"Comcast" is too large of a company for everyone to know any particular detail. However, it appears that a few of the lead engineers (that just happen to occasionally be around here) understand it, and (I am guessing) will be passing that info along to the appropriate people during the day (and presumably roll out mitigations for the time being until they can get the updates worked out).

I would never expect such information to reach down to the average CSRs you get on the phone, and unfortunately the word "Shibboleet" was just a dream.

Where Can I find more information on this "issue"? I did some searches online and haven't found anything.

I would like a reference to the problem as it looks like I'm going to need to back up my claim that it is an issue on their side not mine (especially when the replacement modem comes and has the same problem).

Actually, netcool is aware of the issue.
There seems to be an issue with Cisco CMTS' and OFDM. Same thing occurred with the CM1000 on its older firmware.

Great thanks! I also just opened up a dedicated thread to this issue over here: »[Connectivity] Arris SB8200 Activation Issues (Cisco CMTS)
