Re: Five Techs Since March 1; Help

If they end up having another repair for you then they should be sending a line tech out at the same time as a regular tech (hits chronic repair status after a certain number of techs out within 45 days). Sometimes a supervisor will go out on such jobs as well. Line techs have equipment that can better troubleshoot issues like this, and they would be able to see any minor issues in the line outside along with where in the line each issue occurs.

Tech #5 was a line tech; the others weren't. I am afraid they won't want to come out here anymore since it is chronic. I'll ask about going down to 6 megs but if worse comes to worse I'll see if I can get back to the slow DSL and off of Uverse. Is that possible?

Edit: I have to sign off. It keeps disconnecting and now it seems not to "want" to reconnect - it's taking longer and longer. I'll check back later on Saturday.

Personally, I like going on chronic repairs - though most don't I suppose. I'm not sure if we still install the old DSL or not. As far as I know AT&T is trying to migrate most customers off it over to Uverse. Line techs always did installs for old DSL, not regular techs (such as myself) so I'm not sure.

Edit: I sent you an IM about running some tests.

Can a customer lower their speed package online themselves anymore? I recall doinf that myself a few times to lower my monthly bill.

I was going to ask... Doesn't anyone have a TDR?

This case calls for a hard look at the OSP and the IW.....

Any prem tech with a v4 has a TDR. Most don't know how to use it though.

Many techs have TDR's few know how to interpret what it is telling them and lacking plats they are somewhat useless.

This case calls for a hard look at the OSP and the IW.....

I could test the IW with a buttset, a 965 or a JDSU so there is no excuse for that having not been done.

The OSP, well that takes a little more experience.
