GeekGirl1 posted : Thanks for the details, I stand corrected. I just upgraded to FiOS TV One and the Quantum router. Verizon shipped me two splitters with those boxes, I kept my old splitter in-place and never bothered to check the new ones. :hmm:

I just swapped out my splitter with what they shipped. It's a custom version of the Amphenol splitter shown in MoCA Broadband Digital 2-Way Splitter.

In this case, it's marked "Verizon 2-Way Digital Splitter", 54 - 1675 MHz, MoCA 2.5. (3.0 dB theoretical 2-way split + losses due material and construction)

I'd guess that the old splitter dropped a few more dB at 1675 MHz than it was supposed to, but I had enough headroom at the box input to compensate for the additional loss. My router is less than one foot from the ONT, with the splitter in the middle.

My MoCA splitter is rated from 5 - 1000 MHz, which is more than wide enough to pass the RF.

Anything about 100 MHz or so is well within the bandwidth of what it can do. As long as the connections are solid and the coax doesn't have any sharp bends, it's not the splitter.

What might cause the problem is that the cable isn't terminated. Be sure that the input to the splitter is connected (of course...) and both outputs are connected. If one of the TVs is not connected, you'll get reflections which may cause those problems. Or at least, very important.

Ever Since the Quantum Boxes came out ( along with the G1100 Router ) , a MoCA 2.0 1675MHz Splitter has been recommended. Since said STB's and Router use it.

Since the 4K STB's came out, said MoCA 2.0 1675 MHz Splitter is practically a must.
GeekGirl1 posted : Changing the splitter won't help.

Maybe, but the theory would go along with this.
