In this case, it's marked "Verizon 2-Way Digital Splitter", 54 - 1675 MHz, MoCA 2.5. The Out ports are marked -4.0 dB. My old splitter Out ports were marked -3.5 dB.

Changing the splitter won't help. My MoCA splitter is rated from 5 - 1000 MHz, which is more than wide enough to pass the RF.

Anything about 100 MHz or so is well within the bandwidth of what it can do. As long as the connections are solid and the coax doesn't have any sharp bends, it's not the splitter.

What might cause the problem is that the cable isn't terminated. Be sure that the input to the splitter is connected (of course...) and both outputs are connected. If one of the TVs is not connected, you'll get reflections which may cause those problems. Maybe, but the theory would go along with this.

Web only lists the MPEG4 HD channels in his list. He added the 4K. Any HD not on this list are MPEG2.

Here is an update to the list that reflects the addition of FiOS 4K UHD on channel 1497 at QAM 21 ( 165 MHz ). This addition also reflects a newly opened up QAM Slot. This is so, because each 4K channel requires a separate QAM Slot for each. There are now three ( 3 ) 4K Ultra HD channels. Details are in the separate partition, below.

This makes a lot of sense. ESPNEWS HD was a mess for me during one of the bowl games, even worse than MSNBC.

I may just need to rewire. It's all in the walls from a previous install that may have been Comcast.

Lower frequencies are typically more affected by bad coax/splitters, I believe.

The issue with MSNBC is on both TVs, so I think it might be more line related than a specific drop.

Anyone know the avg Bitrate for the NON 4K channels and if it varies by channel or is roughly equal for all the Mpeg-4 channels?

Whatever it is, it isn't enough. Since the video quality from the FiOS hD channels are terrible now. It's nothing like it was thirteen years ago. Or even sis years ago. So much detail in the image is missing now from all the channels being over compressed.
