Columbus GA speeds taking a nosedive

I Used to get fairly consistent speeds up/down that were close to my "paid for" pricing of 50/5. This past week has been horrid with speeds so slow at times that even common sites I visit daily (here, Google main (search) page, NPR, Krebs) will load incompletely. Running the speedtest at different times of day and using different browsers makes no difference. This last one is typical of what I'm seeing

My ping has never been that high that I can remember in several years.
Modem levels are "normal" with:
downstream SNR at 36-37 dB
downstream power levels at -6 to -7 dBmV
upstream power level is 41 dBmV on all 3 channels

Though I never had to before I've also tried with my anitvirus (Avast) paused, WinPatrol exited, etc. No difference Anyone else having problems?

I'm in the Lakebottom area.

Have you tried plugging your PC straight into the modem?

If that is the case and your modem has good stats and no errors then it is probably the node or your computer. Have you ruled out your computer yet?
