All set now.
Setup future cancellation date, toast.net was able to schedule install the following day. Family survived just over one day without internet service. AT&T installer was rather vague on what he did at the VRAD, moved things around, tagged my wire pairs differently vaguely described.
As I already had both pairs in use, he retested the lines to confirm all was working as expected. He replaced my Motorola NV589 with a (Arris?) Pace 5268AC in short order, about an hour total between inside and outside my home and the VRAD work.
