Re: [Sci-Fi] Castlevania Series on Netflix

Wow. I love this animation style. I am very excited to see this. July 7th is not very far away!

Remember the controversy surrounding the 2nd Nintendo Power issue featuring Castlevania 2?

I had it, and wish I would have kept it.
said by Wiki :
Upon its release, Simon's Quest received strong publicity in the second issue of Nintendo Power. Its front page had a costumed model dressed as Simon Belmont, holding Dracula's severed head. This cover provoked many telephone complaints from parents of children who purchased the magazine, stating that it gave their children nightmares. Nintendo Power covered this in volume 50 of the magazine, which cited this as its worst cover.
I never had nightmares over it, and to this day think it's a pretty cool cover!

That's a great cover. Unfortunately, I never knew about Castlevania until I got an NES/SNES emulator in the early 2000's.

That would've made an awesome poster.

I do remember that! My buddy Matt had a Nintendo Power subscription. Would love to get a look at those magazines again.

I used to watch Captain N the Game Master on Saturday mornings when I was a kid. I was a bona fide horror nut in the 80s (a good decade for it). I hated the way they portrayed Simon in that show. The Netflix series is what I wanted to see!

Dude, I could hardly watch that show because of them making fun of my favorite character. He was the typical big dumbass character like Launchpad McQuack, Johnny Bravo, Patrick Star, and Ed (Ed, Edd, and Eddie). Those bastards.

Remember Dungeons and Dragons? I wanted to punt that dungeon master every episode. And the dude that played the cavalier was such a douche.
