[NodePlus0] Cisco GS7000 Node (N+0 deployment)

For those curious, here are a couple quick pictures of the guts for the new Cisco nodes we are installing in Seattle. Id be happy to answer any questions regarding these. My response time may vary; some days are crazy with cut-ins, others arent for reasons beyond my control.

These are a 1.2ghz mid split configuration. The one in the picture obviously has not been optimized; Ran into a major issue, no forward light.

How much output power you will operate these nodes? I see in the data sheet they can output (analog) 64 dBmV at 1218 MHz and 60 dBmV at 1002 MHz, is that correct?

while it is finally cool to see some extra frequency in the upload direction, why did comcast only choose mid split? even with that it doesnt support a full gig upload. i dont understand, seeing how its pretty common to have like 750mhz max, theres like 450mhz extra download, and they could only allocate 43mhz of that to upstream?

Ours are running 36(edit)/57, and that's measured digitally which is 6db down from an analog carrier, so yes those levels are correct. These things are smoking hot.

I think with the time frame to roll these out system wide, they didnt see a need to invest in the high split just yet. Hell by that time full duplex will be in the test phase, so perhaps just roll right into that...I really dont know.

How close are you to equip it with remote PHY?

Correct. The current set of child nodes we are cutting in this week sub counts range from 40 to 127. However a couple of the smaller ones are still going to be combined up at the CMTS.

well the timing of going R-PHY is wayyyy above my pay grade thats for sure. But for the field, its a module that goes in the lid, and there is a dial on the board (middle/lower left) that we turn and BAM. There is no word on when it would happen.

I would think there would be more than an 11 db tilt for 1.2ghz system. The systems I have worked are 7db for 550mhz, 10db for 750mhz and 12db for 860mhz.

what are current 860mhz nodes running at?

@gar187er, what levels do currently installed 750/860 nodes run at?
