"clearing the lines" in new subdivisions

Two questions:

1. How long does it usually take incumbents to "clear the lines" in new subdivisions (i.e. make their cable plant available for TPIA)?
2. What is the CRTC-mandated time-frame for making TPIA available in new subdivisions?

I thought for the most part, new subdivisions are fiber.. They still used copper where you are?

Re: "clearing the lines" in new subdivisions

New areas using FTTH for Bell or RFoG in the case of Rogers is pretty much off the table for TPIAs for now until CRTC finalizes the tariffs.

So for new developments if either of this technologies are used TPIAs are pretty excluded for the time being.

As for copper for DSL and regular cable, those should be pretty much immediately available to TPIAs as far as I know.

Not immediately available, because we can't place a Teksavvy order for Cogeco coax yet. Teksavvy says "lines haven't been cleared".

Yeah, I'm curious what it actually means..

What does one have to do to "clear the lines", after they are cleared, they will be available for TPIA...

I still have no idea what that means lol

Someone from Teksavvy can answer that. It's their terminology.

Was this in regards to a recent order or move? What is via direct or over the phone? If wasn't in direct, could you open a thread on »/forum ··· avdirect ? Curious as to what was actually done and noted.
