Comcast XFINITY TV → [Content] Is only digital preferred able to stream online?

I'm thinking of cutting out digital preferred. We barely watch tv and we already pay an association fee for comcast basic channels.

Would i still be able to log into say Fox or NBC from my computer if i cancel Digital Preferred?

Do you plan on downgrading, or cancelling TV entirely? Generally, you can stream whatever is included in your video package. If you want to watch Fox or NBC, you would probably need at least Limited Basic.

i can't cancel entirely. basic cable through comcast is included in the association fee. we get those little digital boxes for free.

Unless I'm missing something streaming content via your internet connection has nothing to do your video subscription. If you're talking about using Xfinity tv online and watching through a PC then that does depend on what your subscribe to as well. "On Demand" sure that depends on the level of video service your subscribe to but that's.

When i want to watch, say, CNN it sometimes logs in through xfinity tv. Would that be effected ? I guess i have to call and find out for sure.

Yes. Those with various MDU/HO association fees for "free" programming often have special limitations (and may, or may not, be considered a video service subscription as far as Comcast is concerned regarding streaming). I would check twice, or even three times, to make sure that the association access would work for streaming. You might also check with your association management to see what they have to say (if others have asked the question previously, they may already know the answer).

The channels you can access via Xfinity Stream (app and tv.xfinity.com), or any television channel that logs you in with your Comcast username and password, are tied to the channels available in your account's TV subscription.

yup looks at it is. this whole time i've been paying around $20 extra for digital preferred and getting so little out of it in return.
