I have Private VPN and get lower pings connected, How are your sauce on gaming with VPN and are there any setting to improve performance.

try and avoid them in gaming at least. unless you're trying to make a game work that isn't accessible in your region at all in which case, the logic something is better than nothing becomes applicable.

yes use vpn if its not available in your region.otherwise try to avoid it.

I used IPVanish VPN on my Asus RT-AC8U OpenVPN client. Gaming on VPN all the time. Performance is about the same as without it. I'm still getting almost the same speed on speed tests (around 275-285/23 Mbps on 250/20 Mbps Comcast Xfinity internet). The trick is disabling QoS if your internet subscription speed goes above 150 Mbps. Use UDP protocol & LZO Adaptive compression. Also add fast-io on custom configuration.

It is true that some games disallow or block VPNs. Other than that, VPNs generally wouldn’t have a huge impact on performance unless they substantially increase latency to a particular server. If you’re trying to improve gaming performance, there is a company called wtfast (»en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wtfast ) that provides gaming optimization through software and a Content Delivery Network that was designed for gaming.
