Is this program still bloated? For example having a crazy amount of "shields" along with unnecessary services?

Thanks, hayc59 for the notice. Although the program notified me, I always check here before installing just to make sure it's legit and no known issues. One caveat for those installing: After the reboot, when Avast starts up, it shows a screen announcing that it's been updated with VERY tiny checkboxes to install Google Toolbar and Chrome ALREADY CHECKED; you have to uncheck them. This always strikes me as very sleazy from a security company!

I always uinstall all extra shields. All I have is the minimalist file system shield. With only that running it works great. No need for anything else.

Wow, Google Toolbar? That is so 90's! LoL But I agree it's a sleazy practice. Especially if it happens in a paid product. Does it?

The Webshield is the main problem with a lot of older computers as it slows down surfing and can be disabled.......which is why I install Avast on all my client's machines......because it is configurable.

Another issue with the webshield is if you have a 1gb connection, it will slow your download speeds quite a bit.
