Re: Promotional Price Expired - looking for alternatives

I am honestly waiting for DirecTV Now to get their cloud DVR this fall, then I'll try the free trial and if it goes well I might do that for TV and be able to switch for internet more easily if needed.

I'm an android TV household and I want to try DirecTV Now but can't because there is no app.

Good point.

I used Roku for many many years; on a lark, I bought a Fire TV a couple of months ago. I am absolutely astounded at how much better the channels are compared to the same channels on Roku. I liked it so much, I bought another one.

Between that and a few other things Roku has dropped the ball on, I'm not eager to use Roku anymore. I still have a Roku TV; my wife uses the Roku side. I still have a Roku on the bedroom TV, and on a TV the kids use. Those will go away.

So if a service is not on Fire TV, I guess I'll miss out on it. Oh, well.

PS Vue has full featured Android and Fire TV apps. Their Roku app is not as good.
