NetFlix

Netflix is crying over nothing because they were the ones caught before for throttling mobile users. Plus in the quote from VZ it didn't state that Netflix was part of the test. they stated this:

Update: Verizon gave us a statement, but it's not particularly specific.
"We've been doing network testing over the past few days to optimize the performance of video applications on our network," a Verizon spokesperson told DSLReports.com. "The testing should be completed shortly. The customer video experience was not affected."

that does NOT state Netflix itself was throttled. Time to make Netflix come up off their data again.

The posted speed tests showing one for Netflix and another entirely higher result for a different speed test from a different domain shows capping is going on, but there is nothing there to state unequivocally that it was VZ doing it or Netflix. Now, Netflix will up the DL if the stream requires it, so I don't believe they cap the speed at all from their end. So it IS more likely VZ is doing it, and specifically doing it to Netflix streams.

Treat all data the same. That is the basis of Net Neutrality. Now if VZ (or any wireless provider) can't actually support all those users, they are overselling access and causing their own issues (much like what airlines do when they oversell seats, or give them to their employees and toss customers out the door). But we all know that wireless is no substitute for a wired connection now matter how much shills scream and yell.
