That is correct. I know someone that works for them and was told that the plan is to do NEO now and proceed to do the Mid-Ohio area in September and October. Everything is ready on their end they are just waiting on the word to flip the switch. I know where I live their has been a lot of fiber laid in the last month or two maybe they are waiting for all that work to be completed before the conversion happens.

Good, maybe we will finally get 300/20 in Columbus

Also, i thought this was an Ex-Insight area.. nope it was always Warner Cable from day one..

Look at all those lovely crimp connections!

That’s a mess of early 2000s. I didn’t see compression connectors until around 2004.

Really? I remember TWC putting them on when we swapped from the Pioneer BA-6310 to the General Instruments CFT 2200

Actually my grandmother still has her wiring from when they swapped her (and she used that damn CFT 2200 until just a few years ago)

BA-6310 your bringing back memories... Man as a kid I was happy when Warner Cable went from 30+ to 50+ channels! I remember watching the loop they ran on Channel 57 on how to use your cable box back in the days.

My aunt has a Ba-6310 until TWC finally bricked it in 2002

She had a thing against GI and refused to change boxes until she finally caved and got digital cable

I remember the CFT2200 boxes. A clock and a guide! It took forever to populate after a power outage. And if you had your box on a cable channel it would still work with the box off. They had a pass thru.

And the "built in" analog music choice that was at then $2/month

It was actually quite advanced for an analog box

But i still have warm fuzzies about the BA-6310 for some reason, although I just love pioneer haha

I remember all the old boxes there was one that we had that you actually had to get up and push buttons to get each channel. then use a little tuning wheel to tune it in and also had to flip another switch to switch tiers it had 13 buttons with 4 tiers. I am aging myself lol. but, I do remember the cable boxes everyone is mentioning they were so clunky.

My grandparents still had a QUBE in the basement that was obviously no longer functional. I wish i knew what happened to that thing, as i'm sure it's worth $$$ now.

Just visited my brother off Sawmill Road. He has 24 channels down. His modem is only 16x4 though. But the channel numbers are up to 24. Looks like Columbus is getting higher bonds for 300 support. His Speedtest on the 100 plan is 117x11.5.

It's the same here. We are on the 60 plan and pulling 77x8.5 I just ran the speed test a few minutes ago.

Sadly still only 16 channels in former Insight land - which is interesting given Charter has more room on the former Insight 860Mhz system than on TWC's 750 Mhz for additional DOCSIS QAM.

Well given Charter's procedure in other markets I would not be surprised to see more CMTS turned up with 24x4 (especially once analog is completely sunset in Columbus)

I’m hoping. WOW is destroying Spectrum right now. Even ATT is in fiber areas.

The legacy Insight areas have already gone partially digital it just needs to happen in the parts of Columbus served by legacy Time Warner Cable plants (like the one on Olentangy River Rd) and finished out in Insight areas, as far as Columbus and central Ohio goes, I'm not sure about other parts of Ohio

Are you sure all of "Legacy Insight" is truly digital? I live in NE Columbus in former Insight Columbus area (fed by the Livingston Ave Head End) and I can see a few analog channels if I unplug my coax from my modem and hook it directly to my TV -
70 truTV
71 Bravo
72 Animal Planet
75 E!
77 CMT

all still come in as analog - nothing below 70 as there is a filter on my line outside since I don't sub to cable.

My sister in her "hood" off hudson still has analog.. the kids use it on an old tube TV in the basement.. so I do not think that Insight in Columbus is fully digital

I know some channels are missing, but they still get most of them from what I remember seeing recently

you're probably right. I thought that was the case but someone in these forums told me that I was wrong and Insight was already all digital. I switched to WOW! a little over a year ago so I can't say for sure.

yeah, I think there actually are a few analog. Someone here on the forum corrected me when I said legacy Insight wasn't all digital and I just took their word for it, and since I switched to WOW a little over a year ago I can't exactly check for myself anymore.

We still have some analog here but, was told sometime in October the whole area would be. they have been laying a lot of fiber here the past couple months so, my guess is when that is installed it will be switched.
