Re: [WIN10] Windows 10 Creators Update

Remember, these updates are basically installing a fresh copy of Windows, while preserving (most of) your data and settings.

They are like the service packs of versions past. Only that they are coming much more frequently than before. Since I started using Windows 10 a year ago already got the anniversary update and the Creators update. On Windows 7, Service Pack 1 came about 2 years after initial release (around same time I installed mine) and there was no other major update in the 5 years I used it.

I think these updates go beyond the old Service Packs. SP's were more like cumulative updates and weren't very large. From what I can tell, the Win10 updates are very large downloads that are more like updating to a new version of Windows than just updating the current version like an SP does.

They are not updates in the old sense. They are in place operating system upgrades. This is why there are so many issues with them. Old registry, dll's, and bloat come with them.
