Bufferbloat test not working, please helpEverything but the bufferbloat test is working. Like the speed test runs without errors but the bufferbloat meter shows up for like a second then disappears and doesn't run. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP, I've scoured the internet for a solution but I can't find anything. |

i concur. I have been seeing the same screen in many months. It used to show the bufferbloat and the grade. But this is not the case anymore. this bufferbloat test is nothing but a speedtest. No bufferbloat result and no connection grading.
EDIT: I just ran a test using US server. Again no live bufferbloat graph. But i did get graded results. It could very well be a server issue? Try chaning servers and see if you get any valuable results. |

I have the same problem. Seems like us Aussies and Kiwis have this problem. |

Just spitballin' here...
Try going into the Preferences -> Advanced settings, and set the Download method dropdown to GET and the Upload method dropdown to POST
(don't forget to SAVE the changes).
Does that help? |

Changed Advanced settings, didn't work. |

Heh, so that explains why I only started seeing the lack of bufferbloat test once I moved to Australia :P. Oh well, another one waiting for a fix! |

For completeness about my failures: I'm on macOS 10.13.4, Firefox 61b6, my bufferbloat test fails saying "06.87s 5 seconds measuring idle buffer bloat 06.9s Internet connection interrupted? - websocket error ", Firefox's Web Console says "Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at wss://t3.dslreports.com:19443/ping. chart6.js:1:84747".
I have no proxies, antiviruses, firewalls - at least in my home network. The bufferbloat test also fails if I change ISP (from fiber to mobile), browser (Chrome-on-macOS), computer (Safari on iOS through both ISPs).
I'm located in Brisbane, Australia, FWIW. |

Running into the same problem myself, but in the US. Chrome 68.0.3440.17 beta, Win 10 x64 Pro up-to-date as of 6/12/18, using Spectrum/Time Warner cable over 802.11ac. Times like this I wish I could see the debug messages of the web tool. |

Did anybody with this problem try using the http url of the speedtest, as reported here: » Re: [bug] Speed Test not reporting buffer bloathttp://www.dslreports.com/speedtest

Add me to the list of people having this issue. Testing via HTTP (no S) seems to work. |

Same here - Bufferbloat report received when not signed in; no report when signed in; only tested with HTTPS. Comcast in California. Platform: WIN 10 PRO; same results on Chrome and FireFox (all software up-to-date). |

I'm not getting Bufferbloat report ever. I tested while signed in and not signed in (even cleared cookies and cache after singing out). Bufferbloat score is never given, only a dash (--) appears. |

I don't follow this concern closely, don't use the speedtest very often, and don't think the bufferbloat test is necessarily a vital metric. However, I have noticed that using the http:// url instead of https:/ seems to bring back bufferbloat from the dead. That's been noted by others for quite a while, more than a few times, including about 4 posts up. Just now, I ran the speedtest at the https:// url, got a flash of the bufferbloat meter, which disappeared, then a dash for the bufferbloat score. I simply changed to http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest and the bufferbloat test worked, gave a meter and a grade, at least. Again. |

To Rolfp, Thanks for the reply. I finally got that suggestion to work. I tried before but could not get the connection to stay as HTTP (i.e. unsecure); today I got it to work as you mentioned. Problem solved. |

I cannot get Chrome to load the HTTP version of the site. When the test comes up there is a little link at the top right of the window for HTTP. When I click on that I get an error:
"If you have HTTPS ANYWHERE please disable it to test without encryption. If you do not have this extension, please clear the browser cache, including 'site preferences'"
Tried clearing my cache and it seems the server is forcing https on chrome. Any thoughts? |

Check the test settings, it may be set for https. Alternately, if you do have that extension disable it for the site. |

Try an incognito window. |

This may also be the reason that the ping test no longer works, though that test I can not get to load at all with just » :. When I do try to run the ping test it only hits 2 servers once then just sits there. I also notice that it is the same servers that give no ping back on the speed test graph. |

It is » SSL certs expired breaking pingtest, speedtest, and bufferbloatThe pingtest attempts to use https even if you access the page via http. |

I just got a bufferbloat reading on a test I recently did; the meter doesn't show during the HTTPS-based test, but the results do show up nonetheless after you select the results details. |

Another upvote for http vs https. Doeing plain http and bufferbloat works fine. Thanks!!! |
