modem signal levels
My internet cuts out randomly for up to a minute then returns... Please see attached file for my signal levels...

BTW the tech was recently here and I requested a newer modem because of slow-downs and same problem. I can't believe I'm still getting a 16x4 modem in 2017! Is the BHN-Detroit market still on 16 channels!?

Is your modem one of those with the Intel Puma 6 chipset ? It would be nice for you to identify the model.

And yes - 16x4 is plenty for 100M down, probably even 300M.

You might consider BUYING your own - the Netgear CM600 seems to be pretty popular, I'm using a 16x4 CM500 .

I was having issues like you and had numerous techs over several months here trying to solve the problem. A couple guys even suggested it was my router and to replace it even tho it was fairly new. After a month I replaced it and the drops continued. Last guy that came here found the issue, it was their modem/router that was the problem. Since I use my own router he replaced the WiFi router/modem with an Arris TM1602 and we've had zero issues.

This modem has a Puma 6 chipset, which is known to cause high latency at random intervals. Please get it exchanged asap or buy a different model.

FWIW, your signal levels are fine as well.

Looks like LTE cellular interference to me. That's where cell phone signal in the air leaks into the cable wire and interferes with the signal the modem uses. That's why you are getting so many uncorrectables on 705-711Mhz.

"which is known to cause high latency at random intervals"

Latency yes, even packet loss, but not loss of DOCSIS connectivity. If the modem is rebooting or needing to be rebooted, AFAIK that has nothing to do with the CPU and thus not a Puma 6 issue. I would never suggest anyone to buy a device with Puma 6, so if replacement is a free option then go with it, but I don't think it will fix your problem. I would suggest OP to check all coaxial connections from where the coaxial enters the house to where it connect to the modem, looking for any old/loose/redundant splitters or connections, especially in hard to reach places like the attic or behind the outlet wall plate. If possible, connect your modem to the coaxial that comes in from the street and if the uncorrectables continue more then a hundred a day, I would suggest requesting a technician to search for where the signal is leaking in. Also have them check there is a proper electrical ground where the coaxial connects to the house, but before it enters it.
