Alright, get on 20, go 30 miles east, then go 20 miles south of 20 on any state highway. Do a speed test if you can. Sprint outside of a city or major interstate does not really exist. Go to any truck stop and ask them if they use Sprint. Be prepared to run.

Used to laugh so hard at my Sprint friends that claimed they had the same coverage as me. It was true, in the strictest sense, but they had no idea at all just how much of their coverage (read: All of it, off the highway) depended on that Verizon roaming agreement.

In my old neck of the woods Sprint was essentially a Verizon MVNO.

That may or not be true, but it's irrelevant regardless. All he stated was that Sprint worked for him in his locale. It's such an odd phenomenon that whenever someone dares to state that Sprint works well for them that someone chimes in with a 'Well if you go to location xyz then it'll suck' type of comment. Clearly if a person frequents location xyz and constantly has a bad issue with the service they'll switch to a carrier that works for them there.

Exactly, Sprint works great for me and I am by no means in a major city. I am in a little place called Gloucester Virginia and the difference between Sprints network in just the last year is like night and day, there are now places I have coverage where my Verizon friends do not.......
