And that said, the update for Adobe Acrobat Reader 11, AdbeRdrUpd11023.msp, doesn't seem to want to fly - on XP at least?

This package could not be opened. ... ?

I got the 11.0.23 update (same file) from Adobe's FTP site and it installed/works fine on my WinXP SP3 box.

PS: Don't forget to disable Adobe ARM (the phone home app) etc depending on your OS.

Ah, I wonder... if I moved some pieces from my E: (system) drive...?

That's it.

I had moved various Adobe (& other) .msp files from E:\WINDOWS\Installer, offline.

So now, I (randomly) selected the last few (Adobe .msp) & moved them back.

On doing so, the install installed.

Guessing it needed (at least) the last (maybe two) .msp updates for the current to install.
