Re: Comruntime errors 10031 - windows 10 home v1709

I've seen via google resetting ACLs helps these errors.

Still initially though, it's best to go into the registry and search for these class items and find out what they are.

For me the first lists vaultcli.dll
The second lists WinTypes.dll

If you want to compare registry entries to see if there is any incorrect entries?
Otherwise maybe finding out what software is using these dll's via something like Process Explorer might help?

the first class (95CABCC9-BC57-4C12-B8DF-BA193232AA01) I have an entry points to nProcServer32 - C:\Windows\SysWOW64\vaultcli.dll......there is also another entry called Implemented Categories - but it's blank (00000003-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}

the second class (41FD88F7-F295-4D39-91AC-A85F3149A05B) I have an entry points to InProcServer32 - C:\Windows\SysWOW64\vaultcli.dll then another entry wintypes.dll

I did ran sfc /scannow and that came back good. I never use registers cleaners - so not like an entry was deleted by accident or something.

That is about how the first key is for mine.
However there are at least 3 differing locations now I see you are running a 64-bit O/S.

Everything I look at online only resets ACL's for the errors such as these.
Maybe looking up properties for the dll's and dependencies and see if they have correct security permissions.

Maybe we can compare security tabs for these items or something of that nature?

On another note, this link seems to help understand a little:

Is there any other COM errors around the same time?

Yep, I am running Windows 10 64 bit.

Don't have any other COM errors.

vaultcli.dll and wintypes.dll all groups minus TrustedInstaller allow read and read + execute. TrustedInstaller allows everything

Everything so far seems to be identical to what I have here.

Read & Read and Execute permissions:
All Application Packages
All Restricted Application Packages
System
Administrators
Users

All Permissions (Except Special):
TrustedInstaller
