Re: Hello, I'm new. I have fios --> router --> coax. Can I now --> sb6120 modem?said by gs0b:or even your old rev E router in bridge mode. I guess I'll try this since it is free. My rev I router is in the basement, receiving ethernet input from the ONT. This router's coax output is connected to a coax cable that runs into the upstairs living room. The living room's coax wall jack outputs to my old rev D router. How can I setup this old rev D router to output (wired) ethernet to a laptop? |

when fios detects an old router like Rev E on your setup, they will charge a support fee of about $3/per month. |

Is there a ethernet connection from the ONT to the router or just the coax? I have a G1100 in the basement and two rev I routers upstairs. Both of those routers have both wireless and ethernet ports used. Look at the FAQ gs0b recommended |

Are they charged the fee? Does it matter whether the router was purchased directly from fios, or purchased from a third-party? (My Rev D came directly from Verizon FIOS years ago.) If I buy a used WCB300N, do I have to worry about the fee? BTW, if I get a WCB300N, is there wired ethernet output as well as wireless output? If so, how many wired output ports are there? |

Any Verizon branded ROUTER that is not rev I or g1100 gets the fee regardless of where it came from |

The WCB300N has 2 ethernet ports. I'd try the router. I don't think they look behind the main router for equipment. My 2 rev I routers are not shown on any equipment list. |

said by Branch:Any Verizon branded ROUTER that is not rev I or g1100 gets the fee regardless of where it came from The OP states that he has a rev I connected to the ONT. An older version Actiontec can be connected to your LAN, configured as a WAP, not a router, and there will be no fee. |

I followed the FAQ instructions, and my rev D (not E as I earlier stated) is connected as a bridge, but not yet usable.
My Chromebooks indicates that ethernet is connected, and is prompting me to "configure ethernet network": 1. EAP method - choose: LEAP, PEAP, EAP-TLS, EAP-TTLS. (which should I choose?) 2. Subject Match: (What do I write here?) 3. Identity: (What do I write here?) 4. Password: (What do I write here?) 5. Anonymous Identity: (What do I write here?)
Is it asking for the WPS pin or WAN MAC that appear on the ver I actiontec unit? Is it asking me to create an identity and password? |

If the rev D is configured properly, it's LAN ports will function just like the ones on the primary router. FiOS Ethernet home networks use DHCP to assign IP address parameters. No logon is required. There is no additional configuration info used.
I suggest you plug your Chromebook into the primary router's Ethernet LAN port. If it works without the configuration questions, this suggests a problem with the rev D setup. If it asks for the same configuration information, that suggests an issue with Chromebook setup. In that case, you may want to use Google and Chromebook specific forums for help.
Good Luck. |

Also, the rev D is rather old. You should do some investigation to make sure it can be used with your rev I primary router. It might not support the same MoCA version. Someone here might know, but a little searching will answer your question. It may even be in the FAQs. |
