Re: [Other] Ripe Atlas Probe

Anyone out there still using them?

I have a probe on my home network. I've never really used the Ripe Atlas probe network for measurements, aside from some testing more because I was curious than anything else.

I do, however, plan to continue the hosting of a probe on my network because there are others who have real uses for the measurements the probes provide, and the more probes available, the better.

I also still have a probe up and running.

Though I do wish they naively were able to be POE powered.
I'm powering mine with a POE splitter.

And I plan to reconnect my 2nd probe at some point.

My probe is in the basement with the network rack, so POE isn't a requirement for me.

Would your 2nd probe be at the same location? Maybe you could figure out how to make some manner of RAID for Probes. Of course, you'd probably want a third one so that you'd have a parity probe.

I have my probe running off a USB port on the router at a relatives house. POE would be great, but this works pretty well.
