Bamafan2277 posted : If your machine is the tall gray one you can fit a paintball tank in there and get your CO2 much cheaper by using one of these »www.ebay.com/itm/CO2-Sod ··· KrxUYq-t and a paintball tank. I get my CO2 filled for $3 a tank locally and they hold 5x what the sodastream tanks hold. I also buy my syrup from Sams Club I buy the Diet Coke BIB (bag in box) like restaurants use and I use a adapter with a spout so I can get the amount of syrup I need. »www.ebay.com/itm/SHORT-B ··· dm5RAfYa This way I can have Diet Coke much cheaper than buying it in the store. Plus less waste and less to haul in from the store!

wutsinterweb3 posted : I was given a lower end model of the Soda Stream product. It came with a tiny temporary cylinder. No instructions on how long to run the carbonator in the box, so I am doing 3 1 second bursts for a 1 liter bottle?

There were no free flavor samples and I was wondering if there are cheaper off brand products for the device, do you have to use the branded cylinder (I'm assuming yes) and is there a better way to buy flavors than Amazon or Walmart?

Also, is it ok to add flavors to the carbonator bottle AFTER it's done the fizz work and how to clean it? It says no warm water, why?

I drink a very large amount of fluids every day, usually iced tea with stevia or plain water, occasional coffee, and on rare occasion diet soda. I saw on the Soda Stream site an outlet for flavors but the darned shipping is way too high in my mind.

I also seem to understand that my included mini cylinder will be exchanged for a full size cylinder at no extra charge, just the case charge?

One problem I have with it is I can't brew tea and then carbonate it.
